Why Should I Visit Las Vegas?

Las Vegas - Why Should I Visit?

Vegas at Night

Once in a while, people ask "why should I visit Las Vegas"? The answer is simple: There is no-where else on the planet like it!

From the second you land at McCarran Airport, you see The Strip through the aircraft window. The tall pyramid of The Luxor, the New York New York Hotel, the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel. Where else in the world would you be able to see 3 different countries gathered all together in one view?!

Las Vegas is aimed at everyone. From the seasoned gambler who wants to visit every hotel and wager a bet, the nightclub enthusiast who wants to party all night, and the food connoisseur who wants to savour the flavours from the famous restaurants the Strip has to offer - to the sight-seeing traveller who wants to see the Grand Canyon. Las Vegas has it all.

I am not a gambler. Would I still enjoy Las Vegas?

It is a miss-conception that you have to be a gambler to visit Las Vegas. In-fact, many people who visit have never gambled in their life, and think that they should bring money to gamble as there is nothing else to do! This is far from true. Yes, in every hotel you visit you will come face to face with a casino. Gambling is in the air in Las Vegas, and you may not be able to help yourself to have a little flutter. But there is so much more to Vegas than gambling.
The shows out in Vegas are second to none. Here, you will find everything you have ever dreamed of - all within the space of just 4 miles! Travel away from The Strip, and you reach Downtown Las Vegas - famed for its spectacular light show on a giant roof about Fremont Street. And not that far away, you will discover the Hoover Dam - a sight definitely worth seeing!

Is Las Vegas enjoyable for children?

Personally I would say leave your kids at home. Why? Because of the law in America, minors are not aloud to loiter in the casinos, and are certainly not aloud in any of the bars / lounges. This limits an adults enjoyment if you want to fully immerse yourself in to the feel of Las Vegas as a whole. However, there are still things for children to do in Las Vegas. You can visit the Titanic Experience located at The Luxor Hotel, where you get to see artefacts from the actual boat. You can witness the fountains at The Bellagio Hotel going off, the volcano at The Mirage, the Fremont Street Experience. There are also places designed especially for children at the Circus Circus Hotel, and the Excalibur Hotel, where children can enjoy their own arcade style games.

Are there rides in Las Vegas?

Absolutely! There are thrill rides for everyone to enjoy! From an indoor theme park located in a large pink dome at the Circus Circus, to thrill rides at the top of the Stratosphere - you will not be disappointed! You also can't go to Las Vegas without riding the New York New York Hotels own rollercoaster! Based on the New Yorks' yellow cabs, the ride travels around the outside of the hotel itself. Although the ride is a bone-shaker (probably due to it's age!), it is still a delight to ride, and make you want to go on it again and again.

Is Las Vegas expensive?

It can be! If you want to gamble, make sure you have a separate budget - it is quite easy to get carried away and spend your "food money" on the slots! But Vegas can be done on a budget. Las Vegas basically can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be!

So why should you visit Las Vegas? Simple. You will regret it if you don't!
